It appears poker sex is the new trend in online poker. For a long time the bragging rights that went with a big win were as much a turn-on to the opposite sex as the money and the thrill of victory. But now innovative business minds are taking the merging of sex and gambling, or for our purposes sex and poker, to whole new levels (and dare we say extremes?)
A big news story circulating the web right now involves the Swank Poker firm whose ads were pulled for being too racy. More specifically, a media watchdog group and a gambling association brought a successful complaint that the ads made a connection between succeeding sexually and “gambling” or playing poker sex. The fact that this site’s ads were pulled isn’t the news or the story here, though. It’s that such a site exists in the first place. Where buxom babes entice lonely men to lay down bankrolls at their feet; where the frequent player loyalty and rewards program includes erotic trips as prize packages.
This reminds us of a recent promotion held jointly by sister-sites Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet Poker. In fact, we believe Party Poker was also in on this one. It was your typical satellite promotion except instead of satelliting into a tournament worth major bucks, the top prize was VIP tickets to Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Mansion to party at the exclusive Kandyland Party with him and his Playmates… now that’s poker sex that we all could enjoy ;P
Which brings us to the final segment in this story on the poker sex trend in online poker: the breaking news that Sam Simon, Producer of hit TV show “The Simpsons” is bringing a private poker game style of show to TV. It will be called “Sam’s Game” and it will include Howard Stern sidekick Artie Lange, fellow comedian Norm MacDonald, actress Jennifer Tilly, and former Playmate Brande Roderick. It wll be filmed in Vegas at the Palms Casino, and it will air on..you guessed it–Playboy Television.
